Our Vision:
Elevate Community Health Nursing
We develop tools, training, and financial models that make nurse contributions more impactful, effective, and financially sustainable while reducing burden on providers. Follow our work as we share insights, progress, and opportunities to meet us at upcoming events.
Community health runs on nurses — and yet the system has never had a way to see them clearly. Their skill is essential, but the current system has no way to measure it. Nurse Roots exists to change that — to make the community health nurse visible, viable, and built into the infrastructure of care.
We’re developing a practical initiative to strengthen nursing practice at FQHCs by defining clearer roles, building training aligned with real clinical workflows, and creating a financial model that supports sustainability. Our aim is to increase nursing visibility, improve team performance, and expand access for underserved communities.

WHY NURSE ROOTS, WHY NOW?
Nurses entering community health face a quiet crisis: a field that values their skills but lacks the infrastructure to prove it.
Without standardized training or metrics tied to revenue, there is no clear path to a sustainable career in the community, and FQ sustainability continues to struggle. Community health nursing deserves a permanent infrastructure. Nurse Roots is building the proof of concept today so the field can own it tomorrow.
